What We Remodel in Belhaven Homes

We improve the home you already have, at any scale. Every project below updates existing space, not new square footage.

Whole-Home Remodeling

A top-to-bottom renovation of your existing house, updating rooms, finishes, and systems across the whole home as one coordinated project.

Interior Remodeling

Refreshing rooms, surfaces, and finishes throughout the house, from flooring and trim to walls and fixtures, so the interior feels current again.

Living & Common Area Remodeling

Updating the everyday shared spaces where your family gathers, hosts, and relaxes, with better finishes and a layout that flows.

Bedroom & Primary Suite Remodeling

Renovating existing bedrooms and primary suites, including closets and connected baths, without adding new square footage.

Layout Changes & Open-Concept Reconfiguration

Removing or moving walls and reworking the flow inside your current footprint, opening up cramped, closed-off rooms.

Updating Older & Outdated Spaces

Modernizing dated interiors, worn surfaces, and aging components so an older Belhaven home works and looks current.

Multi-Room & Combined Remodels

Coordinating several existing rooms as one project, so finishes stay consistent and the work stays on a single schedule. Kitchens and bathrooms are often part of a larger remodel. Those have their own detail on our kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling pages.

Signs to Watch

Signs Your Home Is Ready for a Remodel

A remodel is usually worth a call when you notice:

A cramped, awkward, or closed-off layout

Dated finishes, fixtures, and surfaces

Not enough usable space in the rooms you have

Worn or damaged floors, walls, or trim

A home that no longer fits your family

Several small fixes that keep adding up

A house you are getting ready to sell

One team

Remodels, additions, and single upgrades

Choose the Right Project

Remodel, Add On, or Update One Thing?

The right project depends on what you are solving. Here is the simple version.

Want to change space you already have? That is a remodel.
Need more square footage? That is a home addition, not a remodel.
Have one specific upgrade in mind? A single trade may be all you need.

Because we handle all of it, we help you pick. For new space, see our home additions. For a kitchen or bath, see our kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling. For a single upgrade, we also offer flooring installation, interior painting, and siding installation.

Older & Coastal Homes

Remodeling Older and Coastal Belhaven Homes

Belhaven has a lot of older, character-filled homes, and they come with quirks. We work with settling, plaster walls, and dated wiring and plumbing that often needs to be brought up to current code during a remodel. Many local homes were built before 1978, so where older paint is disturbed we plan the work around lead-safe handling under the EPA’s RRP rule. On the coast, humidity and moisture matter too, so we favor moisture-aware materials and proper ventilation. Knowing what is behind the walls of an older home is what keeps a remodel on budget.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prado’s Home Improvement built a deck for us in Chocowinity, NC a few months ago and we are very happy with how it turned out. Johan was easy to work with, stayed within our budget, and got the project started quickly. Him and his crew were always professional and showed up when they said they would. The deck looks great and has held up well. We appreciate all their hard work and will definitely be calling them again for future projects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prado’s Home Improvement recently redid our screen porch in Washington, NC and we love how it turned out. They installed a new screen system that really updated the look of the porch. The crew showed up when they said they would, the price was fair, and the job was finished on time.

They cleaned everything up when they were done and even helped put our outdoor furniture back. We’re very happy with the work and would definitely hire them again. Highly recommend!
